Art Classes
Visual Art classes are a part of the Year 7 and Year 8 curriculum at Waimea Intermediate.
Students attend specialist Art classes as part of the technology rotation.
Stage Band
Students who play instruments can audition for the stage band.
The stage band meets every Friday morning and performs in and out of school during the year.
Rock Band
Students can audition for the school rock bands.
The rock bands meet every Friday morning and perform at school and in the Nelson Rockfest each year.
Choir
Students audition for our school choir. The choir meets every Friday during Modules and performs both in and out of school during the year.
Kapa Haka
The Kapa Haka group meets during modules every Friday afternoon. This group performs both in and out of school during the year.
Raroa Exchange
The Raroa Exchange takes place in Term 4 of each year, with WIS students visiting Raroa School in Wellington every second year, and Raroa visiting us every alternate year. Students across a range of arts disciplines are chosen to participate in this exchange.
Masked Parade
WIS students enter The Nelson Masked Parade.
Show Quest
For the first time this year, WIS students participated in the Nelson Showquest.

Instrument Tuition
Small group instrument tuition is available.
There is an opportunity, at the beginning of each year, to hire and instrument and sign up for lessons.
E Tū
E Tū is an outdoor performance, held on the last Friday of each term. Students audition to be a part of this.
